My unpleasant experience in today’s libraries (both academic and public) have led me to the source of what I perceive as a serious problem in modern education search. The problem is noise, especially noise from the human voice interaction in places, once revered as sanctuaries of silence.
It could be a surprise to some people, the atmosphere in general, modern librarians are guaranteed for quiet introspective learning. Even more surprising is the fact that these librarians to flee the silence, as they actively support what they see as the liveliest, most engaging learning environments.
From the perspective of an adult who understands learning as a deeply personal matter, this relaxed attitude towards noise in libraries is debilitating. The reality of excessive noise at once quiet areas, which begs the question: “What went on in the minds of educators, who now lead the charge in a battle against traditional quietly made wrong?”
